Drugs for Pain

Well I've seen my pain consultant at the pain clinic today and have been assured that my gambit of drugs that I am on will not cause me to have a weezy chest (phew ! thank goodness for that). I'm still weezing and coughing so my Doc has advised me to pop over and see her if it does not clear up after our 10 day trip to Spain next week. I'm sure that it will dry up though as I always find the air quite different in Spain. My pain consultant also suggested changing Nortriptyline to Amatriptyline as I am real suffering with terrible sleep as I wake up with nerve pain so many times that I feel exhausted when I wake up and they are hoping that taking the Amatriptyline will help me to sleep better. We talked about the morphine pump again but I had already decided that it was not for me after reading so many things that can go wrong and how you feel on it and also the usual side effects. I would like to think of it as a last resort in years to come if I cannot have further surgery for my back. I think I told you in a previous post how much I like the pain support website www.painsupport.co.uk - well what a great week i've had with it this week. I posted a comment and have now got an online friend who not only lives near me but has had surgery with the same consultant as me at the same Hospital as me - how about that !! It's a small world isn't it and the best thing is that you can chat away to each other and not bore your friends to death as you are both going through similar friends. Take a look, you will enjoy it.
