Heat Pads for Back Pain, but Which One is the Best ?
With only a few weeks before we have our long flight to Dubai, I have been looking through the different types of heat pads for using during the flight. I have always found heat helps my pain and have a heat pad on my bed and downstairs which I just plug in as and when I need it. But with so many different types available I'm finding it quite hard to decide which one to go for. ThermaCare Therapeutic Backwraps are available from just about every chemist with only a slight variation on cost. Boots say 'they are clinically proven to be as effective as six ibuprofen tablets and it works for 8 hrs. Another option could be the Hotties http://www.hottie.org.uk/ range of heat pads which you pop into a microwave which I know they have on flights, but I just wonder if they would be allowed to heat them up for you. The same would go for filling up a hot water bottle for you. Another one is called 'Heat in a click', http://www.heatinaclick.com/ which are reusable heat pads which last for about an hour. They say the pleasure pad is one of their strongest sellers, providing over and hour of heat before gradually cooling down. You can also buy a cloth pouch which can retain the heat for longer.
