Help Ease Some of Your Pain Yourself
Creating your own type of 'wellness' lifestyle can help you to cope with chronic pain. Try to simplify your life by making larger tasks into smaller little ones. Try to get help with the chores that irritate your pain. Wear looser clothing. Stand and stretch regularly. Look for back, arm and/or wrists rests supports. Have a foot stool handy wherever you sit. Put your telephone on speaker or use ear phones. Make sure you have good posture while sitting. If you are using a computer a lot, try to invest in a laptop. If you are using a computer buy a wireless mouse. Get as much sunlight (Vitamin D) as possible. Take short regular walks and never forget your walking stick. Read a good book. Have a pet. Watch a good video. Listen to some nice soothing music. Take up knitting or sewing (for the ladies). Take up model building (for the men). Follow a jigsaw. Book regular alternative therapies ( like acupuncture, massage etc). Blog and make lots of new friends from all around the world.
