Worry Less About Your Weight If You Have Osteoporosis
They are now saying that we should worry less about our weight and more about our height if we have osteoporosis.
Apparently rheumatologist Professor David Reid of the University of Aberdeen has said that Osteoporosis is one condition where its actually better to be a little heavier rather than lighter.
This is because a few extra pounds may protect your bones. However, monitoring your height is very important as a loss in inches is a sign of compressed or fractured vertebrae in the spine.
You should check it every year after your 50th birthday and if you lose more than 4cm (1.5) then you should visit your GP.
