Put Your Feet up Against a Wall to Sooth Your Nervous System
Try the classic yoga pose by putting your feet up against a wall. It soothes the nervous system and promotes deep relaxation of mind and body. All you do is lie on your back on the floor with your legs resting on a wall. Then gently shuffle your bottom forward to the base of the wall so your legs form a 90 degree angle. Now relax your arms by your side, close your eyes and breathe deeply and slowly for five minutes. When you are ready to get up, slowly bend your legs and ease them to one side towards the floor.
Researchers in Boston have found that Yoga is very calming because it boosts levels of the brain chemical Gab Am which acts as a natural anti-depressant. If you can't get to a class then buy the audio CD 'Gentle Daily Yoga, from www.wellbeingworldonline.com
