I started reading the book "The Divided Mind : The Epidemic of Mind Body Disorders" and I must admit after just a few pages where it is explained that most pains are bascially "all in your head" I was ready to throw the book across the room. But, I decided to stick to it and slowly slowly try and take in what they mean about the epidemic of mind body disorders which seem to be rife at the moment. I will hold back on writing anything further about this book until I have finished it.

I finished my antibiotics today but I am not sure I have completely kicked the infection yet. We decided I would try my first walk this morning as we have a trip to London booked for tomorrow to see Cirque du Soleil which are were very much looking forward to.

I had hardly done a few steps before I started coughing like mad and struggling to breathe so out came my ventolin inhaler and two puffs later we carried on our walk. It was only a short walk of about 8 minutes but by the time we reached the paper shop I needed to sit down.

On the walk back we were both silent but both thinking the same thing "we had to cancel the trip to London". When we got back I rang the company we had booked the trip with who could only offer me a confirmation cancellation email which she said I would need to claim it back from my travel insurance company.

I have NEVER claimed on my travel insurance so it was a first for me but I decided it was worth a try then at least we could go again at a later date. To say I am gutted is absolutely true but it is what it is so I contacted my insurance company, filled in the relevant paperwork and I will just have to wait and see.

I am still wheezing but I certainly feel better in myself than the last few days but the neck pain is driving me potty so I am popping pills left right and centre and regularly putting my wheat bag in the microwave. Hopefully another day tomorrow and a further turnaround with my health. Fingers crossed.
